INFORMATION
100 Cartoon People is a project that I started during my internship in Chicago. I started cartooning my coworkers and then I started cartooning the city locals. After a while I decided to make it one of my goals to cartoon 100 people.
Each cartoon on the website is based on meeting the person or from someone sending the pictures of the person for me to make my sketch. Usually a couple of pictures should be submitted so I can study the features of the person to capture their personality. If the person has a particular facial expression or hand gesture that people will recognize them by, it is best to give a description of it.
If I have the cartooned's permission, I will display their real photo next to their cartoon in the gallery. Otherwise 3 question marks will be placed next to their cartoon.
During my last semester at the University of the Pacific, I decided to contribute this project to help organizations with good causes. A portion of the money from cartooning will go to the organization of choice for a period of time. This is a win-win situation for everyone. The organization will get the money they need to continue research or outreach, I will get closer to my goal of cartooning 100 people, and the donors will get a keepsake for their contributions.
